The revolutionary ECONYL® yarn used in this collection is made from waste such as fishing nets from the oceans and aquaculture, fabric scraps from mills and carpets destined for landfill.
For every 10,000 tonnes of ECONYL® raw material, we are able to save 70,000 barrels of crude oil and avoid 57,100 tonnes of CO2 emissions. This reduces our impact on climate change by 80%.
1% of sales from this product will be donated to the Healthy Seas initiative and its team of volunteer divers, while promoting responsible fishing practices and protecting life under water. Ghost fishing gear represents approximately 47% of plastic waste in our oceans. Healthy Seas protects our marine ecosystem by removing ghost fishing gear, which is transformed into ECONYL® yarn.
